First Things First is a manifesto originally written in 1964 (edited in 2000 and re-visited again in the early 2000’s) by Ken Garland, as a reaction to the staunch society of 1960s Britain and called for a return to a humanist aspect of design. The task was to design a booklet containing all the three documents by using one typeface in one weight and only printed in black ink.
